Welcome to ENGL 2121!
This survey course in early British literature covers works from the Middle Ages through the end of the eighteenth century. That's a lot of time! The aim of this course is neither to cover this period in its entirety nor to convert all of you to English majors. However, I do hope that you find in the selection of readings we'll discuss this semester something that challenges and interests you. I hope, too, that you find the materials as engaging as they are diverse.
